Official City Roundup: Notices for Sunday, March 8, 2026

The following official notices and public service announcements are currently active for the City of Phoenix. Residents and visitors are encouraged to review these alerts to ensure public safety and minimize travel disruptions across the metropolitan area.

Traffic Advisory: Major Freeway Restrictions

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has issued several critical travel advisories for today, Sunday, March 8, 2026. Significant delays are expected due to ongoing widening and paving projects. Drivers are advised to allow extra travel time and utilize recommended detour routes.

  • Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) Closure: Eastbound lanes are closed at Val Vista Drive in Gilbert for paving. This closure will remain in effect until 8:00 p.m. tonight. Additionally, the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Cooper, Gilbert, and Lindsay roads are closed. Traffic can detour using the off- and on-ramps at Val Vista Drive or use Williams Field Road as an alternate.
  • Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) Restrictions: Both east- and westbound off-ramps at 75th Avenue are closed until 6:00 p.m. today. 75th Avenue itself is also closed in both directions near the Loop 101 interchange for a widening project.
  • Lindsay Road Overnight Notice: Starting at 9:00 p.m. tonight, Lindsay Road will be closed in both directions at the Loop 202 junction until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning.

Health Advisory: Marijuana Product Recall

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) continues to monitor a voluntary recall of specific marijuana products originally issued in February 2026. Laboratory results identified the presence of Aspergillus, a fungus known to cause respiratory issues and allergic reactions, particularly in individuals with pre-existing health conditions. Consumers are advised to check batch numbers on all recent purchases. If you possess recalled products, do not consume them; dispose of them immediately or return them to the dispensary where they were purchased.

Public Service: 2026 Heat Response Plan

Following the recent approval by the Phoenix City Council, the 2026 Heat Response Plan is now being implemented. While current March temperatures remain moderate, the city’s Office of Heat Response and Mitigation reminds residents that year-round respite services are available. The city’s primary 24/7 respite center at 20 W. Jackson Street provides emergency heat relief, climate-controlled shelter, and navigation services for vulnerable populations and families in need.

Parks and Recreation: New Ordinance Notice

The City Clerk’s office and the Parks and Recreation Department are issuing a final public notice regarding City Ordinance G-7467. Approved to address public safety, this ordinance prohibits unauthorized medical treatments within city parks and mountain preserves. The new regulations are scheduled to take effect on March 30, 2026. Residents are encouraged to visit the city’s public meeting portal to review updated service-level maps and provide feedback on operational assessments before the implementation date.
