Two hospitalized in critical condition after early-morning motorcycle and vehicle collision near Phoenix–Glendale border

Crash reported just after 2 a.m. at 83rd Avenue and Camelback Road

Two people were hospitalized in critical condition early Sunday after a collision involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle near the Phoenix–Glendale border, authorities said. The crash was reported shortly after 2 a.m. near the intersection of 83rd Avenue and Camelback Road, an area that sits along the boundary between the two cities.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and found a motorcycle that had been carrying two riders and a vehicle that had collided in the intersection. A man and a woman were transported to a hospital in critical condition. A third person was evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization.

What is known so far, and what remains unclear

Investigators had not released details about what led to the crash by Sunday morning. Authorities had not publicly identified the people involved, described the vehicle’s driver or occupants beyond the third person treated at the scene, or provided information about whether speed, impairment, distraction, or a traffic signal violation may have played a role.
