Scottsdale police report 99 arrests, 1,024 service calls during 2026 WM Phoenix Open week

Arrests and calls concentrated at tournament grounds and adjacent nightlife venue
Scottsdale police reported 99 arrests tied to activity inside TPC Scottsdale during the 2026 WM Phoenix Open and at the nearby Birds Nest concert venue, as the tournament week again drew large crowds and heavy public-safety demand.
The department said it handled 1,024 calls for service between Feb. 2 and Feb. 8, 2026. Of those, 857 calls were logged at the Phoenix Open and 167 at Birds Nest. Police reported 88 arrests at the tournament and 11 at Birds Nest.
Underage drinking and removals from the venue
Police said 32 of the arrests involved underage drinking. Separately from arrests, the department reported 202 ejections and 90 trespass actions during the week. Police indicated many ejections and trespasses were connected to conduct-policy violations that did not rise to criminal offenses.
Under tournament rules, disruptive fan behavior can lead to immediate ejection and potential criminal trespass, and underage alcohol consumption can result in removal and criminal prosecution.
On-site enforcement versus off-site DUI operations
The Scottsdale figures cover incidents at the tournament site and Birds Nest, but they do not capture all enforcement activity linked to Phoenix Open crowds across the broader metro area. A separate state DUI task-force operation operating off the course reported 1,091 traffic stops between Thursday and Saturday of tournament week, with 109 DUI arrests, including 23 categorized as “extreme DUI” based on a blood alcohol concentration threshold of 0.15 or higher. The same operation reported 113 civil speeding citations and 26 criminal speeding tickets during that window.
How 2026 compares with recent tournaments
The 2026 arrest total reported by Scottsdale police (99 combined across the Open and Birds Nest) follows a period of elevated public-safety activity around the event. In 2025, Scottsdale police reported 1,011 calls for service during the tournament and related events, alongside 63 arrests, 319 ejections and 114 trespass actions. Earlier years showed lower call volume and fewer removals, with a notable dip in 2024 attendance that police attributed to weather impacts on the course.
