Holiday Service Schedule: Presidents' Day Observance
The City of Phoenix has finalized the operational schedule for the upcoming Presidents' Day holiday on Monday, February 16, 2026. Residents are advised that while city administrative offices will be closed, several essential services will maintain modified operations. Residential trash and recycling collections will proceed on their regular schedule throughout the holiday week with no delays. However, the 27th Avenue and North Gateway transfer stations will be closed on Monday. All Phoenix Public Library locations will also be closed in observance of the holiday, though digital resources and book drops remain accessible 24/7.
Traffic and Roadway Advisories
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) reports that the major widening project closure on Eastbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) between 51st Avenue and Interstate 17 is scheduled to reopen at 5:00 a.m. today, Sunday, February 15. Despite this reopening, motorists should anticipate localized congestion and specific street closures in the following areas:
- Willo District: Third Avenue is closed between Holly Street and West Monte Vista Road until 6:00 p.m. this evening for the 37th Annual Willo Historic Home Tour and Street Fair.
